The Intercultural Platform was established in 2009 in response to the need to support people in Direct Provision Hostels in Donegal Town and Moville back then.
Since that time we have been at the forefront of opposition to Direct Provision – but in support of the people in the system. We attend meetings of the Friends of Port Road IPAS Apartments, demonstrations and meetings and we are now working with the new residents in the 4 IPAS houses acquired for single men in Direct Provision. These houses are all located in Letterkenny to date.
Our Colleague Nolunga Shologu works directly with the IPAS centre residents as part of the Pathways contract (Donegal Parent & Family Support Service) and we hold regular ‘clinic’ meetings in the IPAS centre to see how we can support residents and families.
